The IT Band Wrap alleviates pain associated with IT Band Syndrome. It applies direct compression on the IT Band to stop friction against the outside of the knee. This is designed to be worn while running/walking. Available in a S-L or XL.
Application: Alleviates conditions of Iliotibial Band Syndrome.
How It Works: This IT Band Wrap provides targeted compression, stabilizing the Iliotibial tract and it absorbs stress to the area and reduces friction and rubbing of the femoral condyle.
Design Theory: The IT Band Wrap includes a compression pad which provides targeted compression. It is 2" wide and is made from UBL neoprene which is comfortable on the skin. Now with a NEW non-slip backing!

Iliotibial Band Syndrome
Medical Definition: Inflammation of the Iliotibial Band. (The lliotibial Band is a tough, fibrous tissue that runs from the hip to the outside of the knee).
Causes: Excessive pronation, leg length discrepancy, bowed legs, and lateral pelvic tilt may cause excessive stress to the Iliotibial Band. This, in turn, may cause a lateral pull on the patella, resulting in patellar subluxation as well as rubbing and irritation on the outside part of the knee.
Symptoms: Pain on the lateral side of the knee or lower thigh.
Recommended Treatment: R.I.C.E. - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. A special focus should be made to gently stretch the gluteal muscles and lateral quadriceps (outer thigh). Reduce activity to promote healing. Apply Ice for 10-15 minutes after each workout to reduce inflammation and pain. (If any skin irritation or adverse reaction occurs due to icing, see your medical doctor). A proper stretching routine is highly recommended pre and post workouts. As with any orthopedic injury, a consultation with a sports medicine professional is recommended.
